Professional overview

One practice, several serious disciplines

The work spans conventional conference interpretation, remote simultaneous interpretation, AI-assisted multilingual systems, international event moderation, etymology, software, training, and cultural commentary.

I am an accomplished conference interpreter, translator, linguist, and etymologist with over 20 years of experience working at the highest international level. I have had the honor of interpreting at prestigious global platforms such as the United Nations General Assembly, the European Parliament, and the Islamic Summit. I also participated as an interpreter in 10 UNFCCC COPs, contributing to seamless communication in complex international negotiations. As the coordinating interpreter for landmark events like the G20 Antalya Summit and the 13th Islamic Summit, I have demonstrated my ability to lead teams and ensure flawless communication in critical settings. My expertise as a linguist and etymologist, combined with an academic background in English and Medieval European History from Bilkent University, enables me to approach language with both scholarly precision and professional excellence, ensuring effective communication across diverse linguistic and cultural landscapes.

Language technology

RSI, AI, and hybrid multilingual systems

Hybrid does not mean replacing professional judgement. In sensitive multilingual settings, human expertise remains central while AI tools, subtitle systems, audio routing, and audience devices are designed around accuracy, latency, confidentiality, and usability.

Workflow

Human and technical architecture

On-site interpreters, remote interpreters, AI speech recognition, subtitle display, multilingual audio channels, video platforms, and audience delivery can be combined into carefully planned event workflows.

Quality

Accuracy, terminology, and latency

AI-assisted systems must be evaluated through language quality, domain adaptation, Turkish performance, display control, AV integration, and human oversight.

Ongoing project

Etymological Dictionary of the Turkish Language

A research project devoted to the historical, semantic, phonetic, and cultural development of Turkish words. Publication details and sample entries will be added only when verified and ready.
